Wildfires in California are forcing the closure of Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and CityWalk due to extreme winds and fire conditions. Four wildfires in Los Angeles County, including the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hurst Fire, and Woodley Fire, have burned over 5,700 acres as of Wednesday morning. The Tyler Fire in Riverside County is fully contained.
A National Weather Service warning for widespread damaging winds and extreme fire weather has prompted evacuation orders for more than 30,000 people in the Los Angeles area. The park announced that it would close temporarily while assessing the situation, with plans to reopen on Thursday if conditions improve.
