A growing community of cancer patients, known as ‘cancer thrivers,’ is refusing to let their terminal diagnoses define them. Three Stage 4 cancer patients shared their personal stories with The Washington Post, offering advice and hope to newly diagnosed patients.
The three cancer patients spoke candidly about their experiences living with a terminal diagnosis, saying they’ve learned to focus on the present moment and find joy in everyday activities. One patient organized a “cancerversary” party with a 1970s theme, inviting friends to dance and celebrate life despite their illness.
