Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face Terence Crawford for the undisputed super-middleweight title at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13. The highly anticipated bout has been dubbed the “fight of the century” by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority.
Alvarez, a four-time world champion, will look to regain his title after previously losing to William Scull. Crawford, a four-division and two-weight undisputed champion, boasts an undefeated record of 41 wins from 41 professional fights.
“I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” Alvarez stated. “Crawford has a flawless record, but I’m confident in my abilities.”
The fight will be streamed globally on Netflix and marks the first collaboration between Alalshikh and UFC president Dana White. The event is expected to generate significant buzz, with a three-city media tour set for June.
