The Vancouver Canucks have acquired forward Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The move marks a significant addition to the team’s lineup, with General Manager Patrik Allvin citing Kane’s physical presence and playoff experience as key factors.
Kane, 33, has played over 930 career regular season games and appeared in 97 playoff games, including two consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances with Edmonton. A native of Vancouver, BC, he has represented Canada internationally, winning multiple gold medals at the World Junior Hockey Championships and World Championships.
The trade initially involved the Ottawa Senators, who transferred the fourth-round pick to Edmonton before Vancouver acquired it last month. The Canucks are looking forward to working with Kane this coming season, expecting him to bring much-needed size and toughness to their lineup.
