Capitals Beat Canadiens with Ovechkin’s Late Goal

Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winner for the Washington Capitals, extending his career record to 888 goals. The goal came on number 35 of the season, and only seven more are needed to reach a milestone.

Andrew Mangiapane finally broke his scoreless drought with a goal tonight. The move was a welcome boost for him, as he had been playing well at the start of the season.

However, the Capitals also committed another Too Many Men penalty, which has become a recurring issue this season.

John Carlson’s latest goal was overturned after a coach’s challenge, adding to his season total of five overturned goals. It remains unclear what causes these rejections.

In the win, Charlie Lindgren made 27 saves and was named one of the Three Stars: Ovechkin scored, Anthony Beauvillier had two assists, and Lindgren stood out in goal.
