Delta Air Lines has pushed back against online rumors and “misleading assertions” about the crew on board Flight 4819, which operated by its subsidiary Endeavor Air crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson Airport. The flight’s captain was hired in 2007 and served as an active duty captain before joining Delta.
The first officer joined Endeavor Air in January 2024 after completing her training and is said to have exceeded the minimum federal requirements for flight experience. Both the captain and first officer are qualified and FAA certified for their positions.
Contrary to online assertions, the airline stated that neither crew member failed any training events or failed to flow into a pilot position at Delta due to training failures.
The crash resulted in 21 injuries but no fatalities. The last of the injured passengers was released from hospital on Thursday. Delta has offered $30,000 to each of the victims aboard flight 4819.
