Caris LeVert Traded from Cavs to Hawks

Former NBA star Caris LeVert is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers, a team that won the league’s best record in 2022-23, for the Atlanta Hawks. According to ESPN, LeVert was traded on Thursday, the day of the trade deadline, along with Georges Niang and three second-round picks, in exchange for De’Andre Hunter.

LeVert, who is in his ninth season in the NBA, has played for several teams including the Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, and Cavaliers. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game last season, shooting 45 percent from the field and 41 percent from three.

The Hawks, who are currently in ninth place, will receive a boost with Hunter, who has averaged a career-high 19 points per game this season. LeVert’s departure marks the end of an era for the Cavaliers, who were one of the top teams in the league last year.
