A cat food recall has been issued due to contamination with bird flu after causing the death of an Oregon house cat. The recall, announced by Northwest Naturals, affects 2-pound plastic bags of Feline Turkey Recipe raw & frozen pet food sold at four locations in Ohio, including two in Cuyahoga County. The contaminated food was distributed nationwide through distributors and has also reached British Columbia, Canada.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture warned that anyone who purchased the recalled food should dispose of it immediately and contact the store for a refund. State inspectors are working to remove the contaminated food from shelves. The recall is linked to several reported cases, including a cat in Oregon and a human death in Louisiana, both attributed to bird flu.
