Catch the February Full Snow Moon and Planetary Parade

Catch the February full snow moon on Wednesday, which will peak at 8:53 a.m. ET. The moon’s appearance is tied to heavy snowfall in February, according to folklore.

Meanwhile, four planets – Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn – are visible to the naked eye after sunset through mid-February. These celestial bodies appear along a line due to their orbit around the sun.

As February progresses, Mercury will become visible directly above the horizon. Late March sees the Worm moon, while April’s Pink moon marks the beginning of spring. Other notable full moons include the Flower moon in May, Strawberry moon in June, and Corn moon in September.

In 2025, there will be two partial solar eclipses, visible across parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Two total lunar eclipses also occur in March and September, with visibility from Western Europe to Australia and Antarctica.

Additionally, several meteor showers are upcoming, including the Lyrids in April, Perseids in August, and Geminids in December. These events offer opportunities for stargazing enthusiasts to witness rare celestial phenomena.
