Cavs’ Garland, Mobley Named to 2025 NBA All-Star Game

The Cleveland Cavaliers have secured two spots for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco, thanks to the selection of guards Darius Garland and forward Evan Mobley as reserves. The news was announced on TNT, with the team’s head coach, Kenny Atkinson, also receiving an invitation to join the event.

This marks the third time in franchise history that the Cavaliers have earned three NBA All-Star selections, and the second instance where three All-Star players are accompanied by their head coach. The 74th annual NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 16 at Chase Center.

Garland is set to make his second consecutive All-Star appearance, while Mobley will be making his first. The voting for reserves was conducted by NBA head coaches from each conference. Garland has established career highs in points and shooting percentages this season, including a remarkable .499 field goal percentage and .425 three-point percentage.

Mobley has also recorded career-highs in points, steals, and free-throw percentage while playing in a reduced 30.1 minutes per game. The young forward is averaging 18.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.50 blocks per game, making him one of four NBA players this season to achieve such averages.

The Cavaliers’ historic 15-0 start saw Garland average 21.4 points and 7.0 assists while shooting .525 from the field. Mobley recorded a career-high 41 points in a single game during their win over Charlotte on December 7, earning him recognition as one of only four NBA players to reach those numbers.

An NBA All-Star Draft will be broadcasted on February 6, where TNT’s Inside the NBA commentators and honorary team general managers Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith will select the final three players from the pool of 24 starters and reserves.
