CBS Brings Back ‘Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen’

CBS has found its post-Colbert series in “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen,” a panel show that will air two back-to-back half hours starting September 22. The show, which was previously revived for a limited run in fall 2023, will follow “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” once again.

After being canceled, “After Midnight” hosted by Taylor Tomlinson will take over the 12:37 a.m. hour. However, plans to renew the series were scrapped after Tomlinson expressed her desire to return to performing standup comedy full-time.

Tomlinson said she appreciated CBS and executive producer Stephen Colbert for their support during her time on “After Midnight.” Colbert also expressed his gratitude to CBS and the staff for their partnership.

The show is a passion project for Byron Allen, founder of Allen Media Group. It aims to bring non-stop laughter with top comedians. The series has been airing in syndication since 2006 and will be available to stream live on Paramount+.
