CBS’ long-running daytime talk show “The Talk” is coming to an end with its final episode airing on December 20. The show’s current hosts – Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood – will share their goodbyes in a special finale episode.
Executive Producer Rob Crabbe explains that the show’s core is about these five hosts who enjoy each other’s company and share their opinions on television. To honor the previous hosts, a “goodbye package” has been created featuring retrospectives of each host.
The finale week kicked off on December 16, with each day featuring a new retrospective on one of the current hosts. The audience will be comprised of loyal fans who have attended numerous episodes over the years.
According to Crabbe, this show’s loyal audience is often referred to as the “sixth host.” They know the hosts well and participate enthusiastically in the show. The final episode promises to be a celebration of the past 15 seasons and the beloved hosts who have made it possible.
In two months, CBS will air repeats of its daytime game show “The Price Is Right” in “The Talk’s” time slot, followed by the network’s new soap opera “Beyond the Gates,” which premieres on February 24.
