CD Projekt Teases Another Cyberpunk 2077 Update

CD Projekt has announced a surprise update for Cyberpunk 2077, titled version 2.3, set to release on June 26. The studio revealed the news during a developer stream focused on the newly released Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.

The announcement follows less than a week after CD Projekt confirmed plans for “one more patch” for The Witcher 3 to add cross-platform mod support. According to senior community manager Alicja Kozera, the Cyberpunk 2077 update will include quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and cosmetics.

While some fans are hopeful that the update may bring additional features, such as console mod support or dynamic content generation, CD Projekt has not revealed any specific details about the upcoming patch. The studio is known for its surprise updates, having previously released major patches in September 2023 and December 2023.

A rumor circulating online suggests that a new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC may be in development, with a writer from Virtuous working on side quests with the game’s narrative designer. While this news has sparked excitement among some fans, CD Projekt has not confirmed any plans for new DLC releases.

The release of Cyberpunk 2 is also imminent, with the project now in pre-production. Meanwhile, The Witcher 3 will receive a new patch soon, adding cross-platform mod support to the game. As usual, CD Projekt’s announcement has left fans eagerly awaiting more information about the upcoming update and potential future plans for the franchise.
