Ceasefire Talks Falter as Fighting Rages On in Ukraine

Ceasefire talks in Saudi Arabia have not stopped the violence in Ukraine. Attacks on Sumy, a city in north-eastern Ukraine, continued, causing widespread damage and injuring scores of people, including children. Authorities reported damage to schools, hospitals, and apartment blocks.

Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andriy Sybiha, condemned Russia’s actions, asking how Moscow can speak of peace while carrying out such brutal strikes. He called for an end to bombing cities and targeting civilians.

In response, Ukraine destroyed four Russian attack helicopters in a missile attack on the Belgorod region. However, Russia’s defence ministry accused Ukraine of targeting energy infrastructure in the Krasnodar region.

The conflict continues, with neither side showing signs of surrendering. The situation remains volatile, and live coverage will resume if key developments occur.
