Celtics Break NBA Record for 3-Pointers in a Season

The Boston Celtics set an NBA record for most three-pointers made in a season on Friday night against the Phoenix Suns. The team surpassed Golden State’s total from two seasons ago, with Payton Pritchard making history by hitting shot number 1,364.

Pritchard’s left-wing shot occurred at 3:40 into the second quarter and was a crucial moment in the game. Kristaps Porzingis tied the mark later in the quarter, using up-fakes to get past defenders before sinking a shot from the top.

In the end, Boston connected on 14 of 39 three-pointers in the 123-103 win, bringing their season total to 1,370. The team is now third in league history with over 1,350 three-pointers made last season.

The Celtics also showcased their shooting range early in the game, with Jaylen Brown banking in a 35-footer as time expired and Jayson Tatum knocking down a straight-ahead 29-footer from midcourt.
