A CEO has faced widespread criticism for bragging about his ₹27.5 lakh (approximately $35,500) first-class flight to Dubai, with many calling it tone-deaf and insensitive.
Jake Bass, a 20-something Australian entrepreneur, shared a post on social media platform X describing his luxurious experience flying in first class with his father. The post included details about the cost of the flight ($50,000), the number of passengers (470), and even claimed that the pilot made a slight adjustment to their course to avoid turbulence.
The tone of Bass’s post quickly turned from inspirational to arrogant, sparking anger among those who felt he was shamelessly flaunting his wealth. Many took to social media to call out Bass for what they saw as an entitled attitude, with some even claiming that the photos and flight cost were exaggerated or misleading.
Despite the backlash, Bass has refused to back down, insisting that his post aimed to challenge people to reflect on their own choices. He later revealed that he used AI-generated content to craft the post for maximum engagement, stating that it “triggered emotion, created division, and sparked mass engagement.”
