Chargers Bring Back Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Keenan Allen

Los Angeles Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz announced the team’s signing of veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the roster. The move reunites Allen with the franchise, where he established himself as one of the top players in his position.

Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, boasts impressive statistics, including second-most receptions (904) and receiving yards (10,530) in Chargers history behind Antonio Gates. His playing style, which dominated from the slot, will be complemented by rookie Ladd McConkey, who also excelled in that role last season.

Hortiz expressed confidence in the team’s ability to utilize both players effectively, citing DJ Moore’s slot playing experience and McConkey’s productivity outside of it. “You get good players on the field and you play them a lot,” Hortiz said, highlighting the importance of creativity with multiple players on the roster.

The signing is notable for being Allen’s second stint with the Chargers in 2025, following Mike Williams’ brief tenure before his retirement. According to Hortiz, Williams’ departure may have created an opportunity for Allen’s return, but initial discussions had already taken place with his agent.

The team will begin practice on Thursday morning, and fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of Allen lining up at wide receiver once again.
