Charlie Woods, 16, wins American Junior Golf Association’s Team Taylormade Invitational Title at Streamsong Black in Florida. He shot 15-under over three rounds to defeat top junior golfer Miles Russell by six shots. The victory marks his best amateur golf result so far.
Woods, ranked No. 606 on the AJGA rankings, was the second-lowest ranked player in a field of 72 competitors. His father, Tiger Woods, won eight AJGA events between 1991 and 1993. Charlie can now begin communicating with college coaches as he enters his sophomore year at high school.
This win follows Charlie’s attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open this spring, which was significantly improved from last season. In 2024, he missed the cut at the U.S. Junior Amateur after qualifying in 2023. The father-son duo has competed together twice in the PNC Championship, placing runner-up in both 2021 and 2024.
