Chase Briscoe has secured the coveted pole position for the 67th annual Daytona 500, posting a blistering lap time of 49.249 in pole qualifying Wednesday night at Daytona International Speedway. Austin Cindric will join him on the front row after securing second place with a time of 49.325.
The top two finishers from Round 2 will start on the front row for Sunday’s Daytona 500, which will be decided by the results of two Daytona Duel races. Ryan Preece and Joey Logano will take part in Duel 1 and Duel 2 respectively, with their starting positions determined by Wednesday’s qualifying results.
Notable entrants include four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves, making his NASCAR debut, who finished 39th on Wednesday night. Additionally, two semi-retired champions Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr., participated in the qualifying events.
