Chase has introduced significant changes to its Sapphire Reserve card, which is popular among points enthusiasts and high-end reward travelers. A new tier of premium perks is available for customers who spend at least $120,000 annually. The annual fee for the regular Sapphire Reserve card has increased from $550 to $795, surpassing fees for other premium travel cards.
Authorized users, also known as secondary cardholders, will face a higher annual fee of $195, up from $75. These changes take effect on October 25 and apply to all renewals after that date. New cardholders will be subject to the new fees starting June 23, when the new cards open for applicants.
In addition to these changes, Chase has not yet announced details about a welcome bonus for the new Sapphire Reserve cards.
