Checkers Employee Arrested for Shooting Customer Over Mayo

A Florida Checkers employee allegedly shot and killed a customer in a dispute over a missing packet of mayonnaise. Elijah Mackey, 23, is accused of shooting 40-year-old Wesley Robertson at the drive-thru window after Robertson complained about his order. The incident began when Robertson noticed he was missing some mayo from his meal, according to a witness’s arrest warrant. Mackey then allegedly attacked Robertson with insults before pulling out a gun and shooting him in the chest.

Robertson suffered fatal head injuries and collapsed against the restaurant wall before succumbing to his wounds. Mackey fled the scene but was later found hiding under a stairwell at the Celebration Suites hotel. When apprehended, he told police that he had a gun on him and asked repeatedly if Robertson was okay. Mackey has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder and is being held without bail.
