Nintendo has confirmed that 2005’s Chibi-Robo!, an underrated GameCube platform-adventure game, will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack library on August 21. The game follows a friendly robot named Chibi-Robo as it completes housework-related missions for the Sanderson family and helps various animals and toys along the way.
In this charming game, players must manage Chibi-Robo’s battery life by recharging it at power outlets to avoid collapse and losing in-game currency. Originally developed as a point-and-click adventure game by Skip Ltd., Chibi-Robo! was later published by Bandai before Nintendo took over its development under the guidance of legendary creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
Chibi-Robo! has cult classic status, but its original version is no longer playable due to a lack of porting forward. A used physical copy can cost up to $200, making this digital release a welcome opportunity for gamers who missed out on the game back in 2005. With its unique gameplay and charming design, Chibi-Robo! is now poised to join other beloved GameCube classics on the Nintendo Switch Online service.
