Nintendo has announced that Chibi-Robo!, a classic GameCube platformer, will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online library on August 21, 2025. This is the second game to be added since the launch of the Switch’s enhanced version, the Nintendo Switch 2, which began in June.
The addition marks the inclusion of another title from the new GameCube library, following Super Mario Strikers’ release last month. The service offers a collection of classic Nintendo games spanning four decades, including titles from the NES, SNES, and more recent releases like the GameCube library.
Chibi-Robo! received widespread critical acclaim upon its 2006 release, earning an IGN Editor’s Choice award and a score of 8.2/10. The game’s unique blend of puzzle-solving and platforming was praised by critics, who noted that it is both cute and enjoyable despite being considered “weird.”
The Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 3.5 million consoles so far, but its launch week sales data suggests a mixed response to non-Nintendo games. Chibi-Robo!’s addition to the online library aims to provide more variety for subscribers.
As part of the Nintendo Switch Online service, members can access classic games, play with friends, and enjoy other features. A free seven-day trial is also available for those interested in trying the service.
