The head of the NFL Referees Association has strongly denied allegations of bias towards the Kansas City Chiefs, calling them “insulting and preposterous”. Scott Green, executive director of the union, expressed gratitude to Commissioner Roger Goodell for dismissing the claims and said that officiating crews do not work with one team more than twice in a regular season. Green also pointed out that despite high-profile calls in favor of the Chiefs, their opponents have been penalized more yards in the same span.
Green stated that officials are doing everything possible to make the right call on every play and encouraged fans to focus on other concerns such as coaching decisions and player injuries during a 17-game season. The NFL Referees Association has assured fans that they can rest assured that officials will officiate every play correctly.
