Chiefs to Face Rested Texans in Divisional Round

The Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have reached the divisional round of the NFL playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC bracket. After finishing the regular season with a 15-2 record and setting a franchise record for wins, they will face the lowest remaining seed in the AFC playoffs, the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs’ strong performance this season was led by their defense, which allowed just 30 or more points twice and finished as a top-five scoring defense. With two weeks off before the divisional round, Kansas City’s starters will be the most rested team in the NFL.

Houston, on the other hand, secured a playoff spot with a convincing 32-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild card round. The Texans also edged out the Chiefs 27-19 in Week 16 of the regular season.

The AFC playoff bracket is set, and the divisional round matchups are as follows: Kansas City vs. Houston, Buffalo vs. Baltimore, and Conference championship to follow.
