Chiefs Win Doubleheader, Ravens Clinch Playoff Berth

The Kansas City Chiefs moved closer to securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a 27-19 victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens clinched a playoff berth following a 34-17 home win over their AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

A scary moment in the third quarter marred the game between the Chiefs and Texans, as wide receiver Tank Dell suffered an injury that forced him to be taken off the field on a cart with his injured leg in a vacuum splint. The NFL broadcast later revealed that Dell suffered a dislocated knee cap, which is considered “significant”.

Despite the setback, the Chiefs offense continued to thrive, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes showing minimal signs of being affected by an ankle injury. Mahomes led the team on an 11-play, 66-yard drive in the first quarter, finishing with a 15-yard touchdown run.

The Texans found some success, but ultimately couldn’t overcome the loss of Dell and struggled to find their footing after his injury. In the fourth quarter, both teams exchanged field goals, but the Chiefs managed to seal the victory.

With the win, the Chiefs improved to 14-1 on the season and moved closer towards a first-round bye in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Ravens clinched a playoff berth with a convincing win over their division rival.

In other news, the Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson passed for 207 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Derrick Henry rushed for 162 yards as they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17. The victory marked the Ravens’ second win in the last 10 meetings between the two teams, with both AFC North rivals now sitting atop the division tied with a 10-5 record.
