China’s First LegoLand Resort Opens in Shanghai

China’s first Legoland resort, built with 85 million Lego bricks, officially opened to visitors on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Shanghai. The park features replicas of famous landmarks such as Beijing’s Temple of Heaven and the Bund waterfront, showcasing the group’s signature interlocking brick design. Tickets range from $44 to $84.

Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng, Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainment, and Niels B. Christiansen, President and CEO of Lego Group, joined forces to open the resort, which is part of a global chain with 11 parks worldwide. The park offers various attractions, including Miniland, where famous sights are recreated using Lego bricks.

Visitors praised the park, describing it as “a good recreation” and a “real fairyland of Lego.” The opening marks a significant milestone in Shanghai’s entertainment scene, offering families and fans of all ages an immersive experience with millions of colorful Lego bricks.
