China’s robot makers are resisting pressure to lower prices due to high demand from limited international competition. At China’s largest trade expo, buyers showed strong interest in robotic products, racking up orders worth $1.1 million for a single automated cafe. Dolphin Robot Technology’s founder Han Zhaolin attributes the enthusiasm to the company’s unique fifth-generation product with nearly 100 patents.
The lack of viable alternatives means US tariffs have little impact on China’s robot makers. Han explained that rigid demand from US customers has prevented price drops, citing higher costs for similar products in other countries like South Korea and Japan.
