Chinese Animated Film “Ne Zha 2” Comes to US Theaters This Summer

Chinese animated film “Ne Zha 2”, which became the highest-grossing film of 2025 and the highest-grossing animated film of all time, will be released in English dubbed version in the US this summer. The film, which follows a young demon orb’s journey to save the world, will screen in theaters across North America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, presented in premium formats such as IMAX and 3D.

The film, the sequel to 2019’s “Ne Zha”, has been relatively inaccessible to US audiences until now. The movie grossed over $2 billion at the box office, with most of its revenue coming from China alone. A24 will distribute the English dub in partnership with CMC Pictures.

Michelle Yeoh, a prominent voice actress, joins the cast, although her role remains undisclosed. “I’m honored to be part of ‘Ne Zha 2,’ a landmark in Chinese animation and a powerful reminder of how universal our stories can be,” Yeoh said in a statement.

The film will mark its US debut on August 22, providing audiences with another chance to experience the phenomenon that has made it a global hit.
