The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has upgraded several chocolate products from Cal Yee Farm to the highest risk level due to undeclared milk ingredients. The affected products include Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Apricots, and Dark Chocolate Walnuts, among others.
Consumers with milk allergies are advised to avoid these treats and return them for a full refund or dispose of them immediately. No sickness has been reported from consuming the products prior to the recall, but the FDA warns that the undeclared ingredients can cause severe reactions including swollen vocal cords, hives, unconsciousness, dizziness, cramps, and even death.
The recalled products were sold in nine states: Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Customers with allergies to milk, soy, wheat, or sesame should be cautious when consuming these products. The company has directed customers to contact them for questions and concerns.
This recall follows another FDA-escalated recall of Marketside Broccoli Florets sold by Walmart.
