US food regulator has issued a voluntary recall of nearly 30,000 pounds of Chomps Beef Sticks after two customers reported finding metal in the product. The Idaho-based manufacturer, Idaho Smokehouse Partners, notified the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service about the complaints.
The affected products were packaged at a single facility between January 16 and January 23, 2025, with an expiration date of February 10, 2026. Chomps Original Turkey sticks have also been included in the recall due to potential contamination.
No injuries have been reported so far, but consumers are advised not to consume the potentially contaminated products. They should throw away or return the items to the place of purchase.
To check if a product was impacted by the recall, customers can use Chomps’ search function on their website. Those concerned about potential injury should contact a healthcare professional immediately.
Chomps prioritizes customer safety and has expanded the recall beyond what is required to ensure all potentially affected products are removed from the market.
