Chomps Recalls Beef Sticks with Metal Fragments Due to Consumer Complaints

US-based snack food company Chomps has issued a voluntary recall for nearly 30,000 pounds of its ready-to-eat beef sticks due to reports of metal fragments found in the product. The affected products were packaged at a single facility in Idaho from January 16 to January 23.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), there have been two consumer complaints regarding metal pieces in the product, prompting Chomps to widen the recall beyond just the beef sticks. The company has also added turkey products to the recall list due to their production at the same Idaho facility.

The recalled items were shipped to retail locations in California and Illinois and weigh 29,541 pounds. However, Chomps did not provide a weight for the additional turkey products included in the recall. No confirmed injuries have been reported from consuming the affected products.

Consumers who purchased the recalled items are advised to dispose of them or return them to their respective stores. The company has taken measures to prevent such incidents in the future and is committed to maintaining high food safety standards.
