Chris Evans Returns to Marvel Cinematic Universe for New Film

Chris Evans is reuniting with his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) roots as he appears in the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday.” The actor, best known for playing Steve Rogers/Captain America, will once again collaborate with director Anthony and Joe Russo. Evans played Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in 2016’s Deadpool & Wolverine, reprising his role from a pair of Fantastic Four movies.

The new Marvel project explores multiple timelines and universes, bringing back many actors from previous films, including Robert Downey Jr., who will play Doctor Doom. The film is set to be released on May 1, 2026.

Evans has expressed interest in reprising his role as Steve Rogers/Captain America in the past, stating he would only do so if it felt right and connected to the original material. He was last seen playing Captain America in Avengers: Endgame (2019), which marked the end of his tenure as the star-spangled hero.

The plot of “Avengers: Doomsday” is shrouded in mystery, but fans can expect a reunion of characters from previous Marvel films. With Evans’ return and Downey Jr.’s involvement, the film promises to be an exciting addition to the MCU.
