Chris Hemsworth is set to star in the upcoming submarine action movie Subversion, according to a new report from Deadline. The film will follow a once-promising naval commander who is blackmailed into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters.
Directed by Patrick Vollrath and written by Andrew Ferguson, Subversion promises to be a high-stakes game of cat and mouse for Hemsworth’s character. The movie marks the actor’s latest project after starring in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Transformers One last year.
Vollrath is known for his previous work on 7500, which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and this new film will be his first feature-length directorial effort. Subversion is set to be released under Amazon MGM Studios, with Hemsworth’s working relationship with the studio growing stronger.
As Hemsworth’s busy schedule continues, he also stars in the upcoming action movie Stunnuts: The Movie and reprises his role as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday. With its promising cast and crew, Subversion is set to be a thrilling addition to Hemsworth’s extensive filmography.
