Christians Join Hindus in Prayer during Diwali Festival

Diwali, a Hindu festival of lights, begins tomorrow and lasts for five days with its peak celebration on Monday. The festival is associated with the goddess of prosperity and marks the beginning of India’s fiscal calendar.

Christians, including those from Bibles For The World, are joining Hindus in prayer during this time. John Pudaite, a representative from Bibles For The World, is requesting Christians to pray for the Hindu world as they celebrate their holidays. He emphasizes the importance of spreading the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Pudaite highlights the increasing pressure faced by Christians in India due to Hindu nationalism and anti-conversion laws. Hindus are being attacked, and online conversions are also being restricted. However, he remains hopeful that the Holy Spirit is still working across the country.

Bibles For The World has created a free prayer guide with this year’s theme: “God sees, God heals, and God saves.” Christians can request the guide to pray for Hindus during Diwali and for the spread of Christianity in India.
