Cisco is building out its “AgenticOps” capabilities to help partners and businesses prepare for the impact of agentic AI on IT operations. The tech giant has introduced AI Canvas, a generative AI user interface that lets NetOps, SecOps, and DevOps teams collaborate, optimize operations, and reduce IT strain.
“We’re the picks and shovels company during the gold rush,” said Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s president and chief product officer. “We are the infrastructure company that powers AI during the agentic movement.”
AI Canvas is part of Cisco’s unified management platform, which now brings together management of Meraki and Catalyst devices in one platform that supports any cloud, on-prem, or hybrid deployment.
The AgenticOps approach requires a purpose-built, precision model to make decisions, as well as access to cross-domain data and oversight. AI Canvas powers this approach by providing a generative AI interface for troubleshooting and executing actions across multiple domains of data and architectures.
“This is going to help you troubleshoot and execute actions across multiple domains of data and multiple architectures,” said DJ Sampath, vice president of product, AI software and platform for Cisco. “More importantly, different users will be able to collaborate seamlessly on AI Canvas.”
AI Canvas also leverages the Deep Network model, a domain-specific LLM that has been fine-tuned and trained on more than four decades of Cisco expertise.
The agentic era is expected to bring significant progress in society, with AI capable of creating original insights that didn’t exist in human knowledge. However, this requires fundamental changes in infrastructure, safety, and security, which Cisco is well-positioned to address.
Cisco will test AI Canvas with select customers this fall. The company’s AgenticOps approach has been gaining traction, with partners like Long View Systems expressing excitement about the new technology.
As the agentic era unfolds, businesses will need to rethink their infrastructure, safety, and security requirements. Cisco is poised to play a key role in powering this transformation, providing the necessary infrastructure to support the scale and proportion of agentic AI.
