2K Games and Firaxis Games have released the latest update for Civilization VII, titled 1.2.2. This update introduces several new features, including Large and Huge map sizes, which offer players massive areas to explore. The new map sizes also come with increased hardware demands, so be prepared for potential performance drops on lower-end systems.
The update adds new Town Specializations, City-State Bonuses, and Beliefs, expanding strategic possibilities for all players. Advanced game setup options are also available, allowing players to customize Legacy Paths, Crises, AI difficulty, and more. This includes the ability to disable or enable specific Legacy Paths per Age, disable Score Victory, and bypass Civ Unlocks on Age Transition.
The new Large and Huge map sizes default to 10 players but can accommodate up to 12 total players, including AI and humans. However, due to performance concerns, Firaxis Games is currently working to optimize the game for these larger maps.
In addition to the new features, the update also includes exciting new Pantheons, Religious Beliefs, Discoveries, and City-State bonuses to keep players engaged. To ensure a stable gaming experience, it’s recommended to stick with Standard starts on Large and Huge maps instead of Balanced ones.
Overall, Civilization VII Update 1.2.2 offers significant improvements and new features for the game, allowing players to explore epic worlds and customize their gameplay experience like never before.
