Set in a world reminiscent of France’s Belle Époque period, the game follows a group of doomed expeditioners as they attempt to stop a malignant, immortal being known as the Paintress.
The game’s prologue sets the tone for the rest of the experience, introducing players to Gustav, a charismatic protagonist with a poignant backstory. As the story unfolds, players guide Gustav and his companions through breathtaking landscapes, each with its unique art style and history.
Expedition 33’s combat system is a standout feature, boasting a turn-based formula that is both deceptively straightforward and deeply satisfying.
