Classic Gaming Magazines Go Online via VGHF’s Digital Library

The Video Game History Foundation (VGHF) is set to launch its digital library next week, offering a treasure trove of classic gaming materials for free. The non-profit organization has been collecting and preserving video game history materials for several years, including over 1,500 video game magazines.

On January 30th, the VGHF’s virtual library will be accessible online, featuring high-resolution scans of artwork, rare promotional materials, and “never-before-seen” game development documents. The digital platform boasts powerful search options, making it an invaluable resource for video game historians.

The launch comes after the VGHF faced a setback last year when its petition to the US Copyright Office was denied. However, with this new initiative, the organization aims to fill the gap in video game preservation and make valuable materials available to researchers and gamers alike.

Visit the VGHF’s website for more information on their digital library and how you can support their efforts to preserve gaming history.
