CNN data reporter Harry Enten has issued a stark warning to President Donald Trump, stating that inflation could be the downfall of his presidency. Enten warns that if Trump doesn’t focus on fixing the economy and bringing prices down, inflation will “crush” his administration.
Enten points out that 55% of voters want Trump to prioritize the economy, with 48% of Republicans specifically demanding more attention from the president. However, a concerning trend is evident: while 49% of Americans rated the economy as excellent or good in November 2020, that number plummeted to just 27% last year.
If this downward trend continues, Enten predicts that Trump’s approval rating will suffer significantly. Inflation has already had a devastating impact on President Joe Biden’s administration, and Enten believes it could do the same to Trump’s second term.
With Americans growing increasingly frustrated with stagnant economic growth, Enten urges Trump to take swift action to address the inflation crisis. Failure to do so could result in a presidency that is “eaten alive” by inflation.
