Code Violet Won’t Come to PC Due to Mod Risk

Code Violet, a dinosaur horror game inspired by Capcom’s Dino Crisis series, will not be released on PC due to concerns over explicit mods. Developer TeamKill Media cited the risk of “vulgar” mods damaging their artistic vision and reputation as the reason for their decision.

The studio wants to protect its voice actresses and actors from being exploited or disrespected through user-generated content. In a statement, they stated that the potential financial gain is not worth tarnishing the reputation of their talent or compromising their artistic vision.

This approach is not unique in the gaming industry. Other developers have previously taken steps to restrict modding on their PC versions of games, citing concerns over exploitation and reputational damage. Code Violet’s decision highlights the tension between creative control and market demand.
