A chaotic town hall meeting in Coeur d’Alene has led to the filing of charges against six men associated with private security firm Lear Asset Management. The group, including five security guards and one assistant, are accused of battery and false imprisonment after a woman was dragged out of the auditorium by plainclothes security personnel.
Teresa Borrenpohl, a Post Falls resident, had been attending the town hall when she shouted from the audience. Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris approached her and told her to leave, but she refused. When he tried to pull her from her seat, he gestured to the security personnel, who then dragged her out of the auditorium.
The investigation found that four of the security guards – Paul Trouette, Russell Dunne, Christofer Berg, and Jesse Jones – had put their hands on Borrenpohl against her will. A fifth man, Alex Trouette, was identified as an accessory because no footage showed him touching other people.
Three others were also identified as having been physically removed from the town hall by Norris or security personnel, including a woman who claimed Paul Trouette had touched her breast after pushing her down the hallway.
No charges have been filed against Sheriff Norris, despite investigators identifying him as an “involved” party. However, police footage shows that Norris threatened to arrest a man at the town hall, shoving him toward the exit and pushing him against a wall.
Another attendee, Michael Keller, was charged with battery after allegedly shoving one of Borrenpohl’s friends during the event. The charges stem from February 22nd, when the incident occurred.
