Non-binary performer Cole Escola made history by becoming the first out non-binary person to win the Tony Award for Lead Actor in a Play. The actor, who was joined by longtime collaborator Jeffrey Self on the red carpet, said the dress he wore was inspired by Bernadette Peters, with whom he played in one of his early comedy videos.
