Comedians Martin Short and Steve Martin Reschedule Tour Dates Amid COVID-19 Cases

Comedians Martin Short and Steve Martin have rescheduled several tour dates of their The Dukes of Funnytown Tour due to COVID-19 cases. Martin Short recently revealed on Instagram that he has contracted the virus, following a COVID-19 case among Maya Rudolph.

The rescheduling affects sold-out dates in Durham and Knoxville, with new dates set for October 17 in Knoxville and October 18 in Durham. The tour, which also stars Selena Gomez, is part of a “quad-demic” winter surge of respiratory viruses.

Host Colin Jost joked about the possibility of COVID cases arising from the celebration at the SNL50 anniversary special, where many Hollywood big names gathered to revive old sketches and create new ones. The event was attended by entertainment industry heavyweights, including Cher and Miley Cyrus, but did not prevent a superspreader event.

Short and Martin have been touring together for their Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” and are expected to bring their comedic chemistry back on stage when they resume their tour.
