Conan O’Brien to Host 98th Oscars

Conan O’Brien will return as host of the 2026 Academy Awards, marking his second stint at the prestigious event. The comedian’s first hosting gig was in 2025, which received positive reviews for its musical elements and humorous jokes.

O’Brien expressed excitement about returning to host the ceremony, citing his desire to hear Adrien Brody finish his acceptance speech after breaking the record for the longest Oscars speech in history. The 2026 Oscars will air on March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC.

Executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, as well as producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney, will also return for the third consecutive year. Their previous production received praise from Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang, who described it as “hugely entertaining” and “visually stunning.”

The 2026 Oscars ceremony is expected to celebrate the global film community in a beautiful and impactful way. O’Brien’s hosting skills will likely be relied upon to guide the evening with humor, warmth, and reverence.
