Conference championship weekend did not disappoint as teams across the country punched their ticket to the inaugural College Football Playoff. Here’s a recap of the action from the chaos on championship weekend.

Clemson secured its eighth ACC title in 10 years by beating SMU 31-31 on a walk-off field goal, likely guaranteeing a bid to the playoffs. The Tigers jumped out to a 24-7 lead at halftime but let SMU come back in the fourth quarter before Adam Randall’s kickoff return set up kicker Nolan Hauser for the winning field goal.

Georgia won the SEC title by defeating Texas 22-19 in overtime, securing a spot as a top-four seed in the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs dominated the first half before Texas tied the game in the fourth quarter, but Georgia outlasted them in overtime with Trevor Etienne scoring the winning touchdown.

Boise State secured its second straight Mountain West Conference championship by beating UNLV 21-7, likely securing an automatic bid to the playoffs. Running back Ashton Jeanty put on a show with 209 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Arizona State took home the Big 12 crown by blowing out Iowa State 45-19, its third-biggest margin of victory of the year. The Sun Devils dominated from start to finish, putting points on the board in seven of 11 drives.
