Conor McGregor Loses Appeal on Rape Civil Case Damages

Irish court upholds €250,000 damages ruling against Conor McGregor in a civil case brought by Nikita Hand, who accused him of rape. Three judges at the Court of Appeal in Dublin dismissed all grounds for appeal raised by McGregor, 36.

Hand alleged that McGregor sexually assaulted her on December 9, 2018, while she was with a friend after a work Christmas party. A jury had previously ordered McGregor to pay Hand nearly €250,000 in damages.

In the case heard earlier this month, lawyers for McGregor argued that the trial judge should not have told the jury to decide whether he “assaulted” or “sexually assaulted” Hand. However, the Court of Appeal rejected this argument and upheld the original ruling.
