Conor McGregor has made a public statement on social media, warning his followers about potential dangers in nightclubs and advising them to record interactions with suspicious women. The comments come after the MMA star recently went through a sexual assault trial.
McGregor expressed distrust in nightclubs, stating that no club will have his back, and recommended recording everything around strange women for evidence purposes only. He also mentioned recording interactions with women he finds suspicious.
The remarks follow an incident where McGregor incorrectly congratulated Drogheda United’s rivals on winning the FAI Cup, which they secured with a 2-0 victory over Derry City at Aviva Stadium last November.
Drogheda United has since issued a statement, clarifying that the club does not associate itself with McGregor or any unauthorized brands mentioned in his post. The club stated that those pictured in the post are a close relation to one of their players, who had custody of the FAI Cup to celebrate with their family at different intervals.
McGregor has also hinted at purchasing a League of Ireland team, teasingly asking how much it would cost.
