Constellation Energy has signed two deals with the US government worth over $1 billion. The company will supply 1 million megawatt-hours of electricity annually to the General Services Administration (GSA) for a decade, starting this year. As part of the deal, Constellation will also receive $172 million for energy-efficient measures at five GSA facilities. This move is expected to boost capacity at the country’s largest nuclear fleet through upgrade projects funded by the contract. The news sent shockwaves in the market, causing an increase in shares as investors anticipate further growth opportunities.
