Cooper Kupp Joins Seahawks on 3-Year Deal Worth $45M

Former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has agreed to a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN. The deal is worth $45 million and brings Kupp back to his home state of Washington.

Kupp, 31, played for the Rams from 2017 to 2024, making significant contributions to the team’s success, including winning Super Bowl LVI MVP award in 2021. However, injuries limited his playing time, with just 33 games played over the past three seasons.

The Seahawks’ decision to sign Kupp comes after trading quarterback Geno Smith and releasing star receiver DK Metcalf, leaving a void at the position. The team has also signed Sam Darnold as their new quarterback.

Kupp’s addition brings him full circle, joining his home state team in Seattle, where he grew up playing football just 140 miles from the city. He will join Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jaxon Smith-Njigba at wide receiver. Kupp will aim to revive his career after a tumultuous past few seasons, which saw him deal with injuries and uncertainty surrounding his future with the Rams.

With this new contract, Kupp will look to regain his form from earlier in his career, where he earned numerous accolades, including being named the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.
